With Kaizer Chiefs wonderkid Mfundo Vilakazi having penned his first senior professional contract, many football fans have had their say on the youngster's big moment. Here's a look!

The story

On Wednesday, Amakhosi confirmed that the explosive teenager had signed his first senior contract, which is set to run until June 2028. The decision seemed almost long overdue, as the 18-year-old has been one of the side's only bright sparks this term.

KickOff readers on Facebook reacted to the big news:

“Good move, give him more game time and play him as a #10, he's got that thing of taking on defenders and opening them up for a striker to finish, give him the playmaker role and watch him do magic,” says Thulani Pernel Maseko.

“Welcome to Kgosi Mampuru prison, young man. You will spend your youth years behind Naturena walls,” says Kanye Pamba.

“Sometimes you win and sometimes you Chiefs, good luck buddy,” says Joseph Rankapole.

“Go to SuperSport,” says Mahandana Tonny.

“They should extend Zwane's contract as well otherwise we will lose him for nothing,” says Silindile Makhele.

“They must give him time or loan him to other teams,” says Tlou Junior Kgatla.

“It is good,to see both of them behind the young man, I hope it's going to be a good journey for the young man's career as he starts,” says Ammy Tiko Chauke.

“So which coach is signing players at Kaizer Chiefs? This is one of the reasons South African teams don't get strong because the coach will arrive and request a bunch of different players,” says John Mokoena.

“I wonder what he is really thinking. You can't just sign knowing very well you will retire with only man of the match awards and no trophies to show his kids,” says Freddy Thobejane.

“Wasting his future at my team KC,” says Xomisil Digni.

In other news, Mamelodi Sundowns are set to play the first-leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final against Esperance de Tunis on Saturday. Tunisian media have since highlighted that one of the things to exploit about the South African side is set-pieces.

KO readers have weighed in on those analysis by the Tunisian press:

“It will nice to see Sundowns starting the match with Tebogo Mokoena and Mbule to be their firing power from outside the Esperance’s 18-yard area because it will not be easy to penetrate the Tunisian defence. Thapelo Morena must also start instead of Lorch, his international experience and the understanding of Downs system will be key in this match,” says YvesSaint King Tsatsi.

“Well, highlight or no highlight, the starting 11 is not programmed they can use their brains in real time. And if we had to count negative headlines about Sundown's from the South African media we would run out of time before we finish, nothing new,” says Nipho Mabika.

“The bottom line is that all teams have their own weaknesses,” says Mzo Landela Welcome Landela.

“What I know is that the media has been against Sundowns but they keep winning. They can leave Tunisia with three points,” says Chaane Lecha-motho.

“This media forgets to mention that Downs is also good at analysing opponents weakenesses and strong positions. Only time will tell,” says Luyanda Luyanda.

“Good analysis, no problem. Let's wait for the game now Masandawana will do the talking for themselves there on the pitch,” says Nasie Olifant.

“Mindgames,” says Mbongeni Mbuli.

“These Arab teams combined fears Sundowns except Wydad Casablanca. They will do every thing possible to intimidate them in all forms to make sure Sundowns doesn't get an important away goal only to come and park a bus at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria. But our coach is too smart for that,” says Louis Nama.

“Did they mention Esperance's 'serious' weaknesses as well,” asks Tshepo Humble Ratau.

“What I like about Mamelodi Sundowns is that they don't fear the north Africans, they know how to play these type of matches. May the best team win,” says Nkosinathi Nkunyane.
