Pitso Mosimane's Abha Club secured a much needed 3-1 victory over Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad during their clash on Friday evening.
Abha Club who were on the backfoot for majority of the match walked away with a 3-1 lead despite having 27% possession.
Former Paris Saint-Germain star Grzegorz Krychowiak gave his side the lead before Jota of Al Ittihad equalised in the 63rd minute.
While N Golo Kante's side continued to pile on the pressure totaling 17 shots in the tie compared to Abha Club's six, it was the latter's Hassan Al-Ali who gave his side a 2-1 before Fabian Noguera gave his team some much needed breathing room with a third strike.

Al Ittihad were missing some big names in this clash including Karim Benzema, Fabinho and Luiz Felipe.
With just 28 points from 30 Matches, it remains to be seen if the South African coach can lead his side to avoid relegation.
Abha Club are currently 16th on the log in the relegation spots, with 15th placed Al Akhdoud sitting on the same points but a superior goal difference.
Securing 15th place would be enough to save Mosimane's side from relegation
In the duration of his four-month tenure, Abha has achieved four victories, alongside two draws and five losses.
Mosimane side have four games left to save the side from relegation including clashes against Damak, Al Khaleej, Al Hazm and Pitso's former team, Al Ahli.
