Manchester United are reportedly open to selling a large majority of their first-team players if the right offers come in.

With Manchester United said to be planning a mass squad overhaul, only three first-team stars are reportedly safe from the axe.

The Red Devils have had an underwhelming campaign to date, and are currently sixth on the Premier League table with the prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season looking highly unlikely.

The club will, therefore, seemingly not be benefiting from the financial rewards that come with playing in Europe's prime club competition.

As such, the side's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and other executives are believed to be open to selling most of their first-team players, with the exception of only Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund, according to Telegraph Sport

It is said the three starlets are off limits to other clubs as the Red Devils look to build a squad around them in the years to come.

The Manchester side are not actively looking to offload key players, but will be willing to listen to serious offers from interested parties if they arrive.

The likes of Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Brandon Williams are among those expected to leave as free agents at the end of the season, with the relief of their wages said to be a potential means of investing in new players.

Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood are also believed to be on the club's list of players they would like to offload, with the hierarchy  consisting of Ratcliffe, incoming chief executive Omar Berrada and newly-appointed technical director Jason Wilcox  hopeful of finding buyers.

While the 13-time EPL winners are said to be waiting to see if the Saudi Pro League will come in for former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, they are also believed to be waiting to see what interest arises for the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Donny van de Beek.

This new approach to outgoings is reported to have stemmed from the desire to strengthen the team's first team by signing a striker, a central midfielder and a right-sided centre-half in the upcoming transfer window.
