EXCLUSIVE: Royal AM's GM opens up

Royal AM are confident that the team will return to action as soon as possible after confirming to have submitted all outstanding documents to South African Revenue Services.

Royal AM was placed under curatorship by SARS due to an outstanding debt owed by club owner Shauwn Mkhize to the government's revenue services.

Mkhize is currently locked in a legal battle with SARS over a R40 million tax debt.

The KwaZulu-Natal businesswoman was reported to have run to the North Gauteng High Court in a bid to secure a Comfort Letter from SARS to allow them to resume their Betway Premiership schedule.

Thwihli Thwahla are still yet to play a league match this year since their last against TS Galaxy at Harry Gwala Stadium on December 29.

Royal AM General Manager Richard Makhoba is confident the matter will be finally resolved tomorrow and allow the team to resume with the Betway Premiership fixture.

"We are confident that after the meeting tomorrow, everything will return back to normal. The curator requested a sum of R900 000 to be paid to the Royal AM account. We have complied with all requirements as stated by the curator," Makhoba tells KickOff.com.

"We are looking forward to resuming our fixture and doing the catch-up with games as soon as possible.

"I want to assure our fans that the management and technical team has put everything in place to make sure that the players stay fit and stay in good mental space to continue with their work in the league this season," he added.

Royal AM sit bottom of the standings with eight points after 11 games.

Their next league fixture is due for February 11 against Richards Bay FC away from home.
