After edging past South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate, Pyramids lifted their first-ever Champions League title.

The decisive second-leg match, held at the 30 June Stadium on Sunday evening, ended in a 2-1 victory for Pyramids, with goals from the electric Mayele and Ahmed Samy sealing the deal.

The first leg in South Africa had ended in a 1-1 draw, setting up a tense return fixture that Mayele helped decide with both his skill and flair.

Known for dazzling footwork that leaves defenders in his wake, the 30-year-old took that same energy into the celebrations. Mayele turned heads with the effortless vibe he carried long after the final whistle.
