Pyramids FC have reportedly placed a staggering $4 million (approximately R72 million) price tag on a player currently on the radar of South African heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Congolese forward Fiston Mayele has been making headlines following a stellar 2024/25 campaign, impressing in both the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League.

The 31-year-old Congolese forward’s consistent performances have drawn attention from scouts across the continent, with both Amakhosi and Masandawana reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
The prolific striker played a key role in Pyramids' historic season, helping the Sky Blues secure their first-ever CAF Champions League title while finishing as league runners-up. His impact has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in African football.
In recent weeks, Sundowns, known for their financial muscle and continental ambitions, were believed to be leading the race to sign Mayele, with reports suggesting the club was prepared to offer around R45 million to land his signature.
However, for Chiefs, Pyramids’ steep asking price has reportedly caused the club’s management to reconsider their pursuit, despite strong support from fans eager to see Mayele at Naturena.
Adding to the speculation, KickOff has reported that Mayele is now unlikely to move to South Africa at all, with the striker said to be on the verge of a move to the Gulf region instead.
Fresh reports from North Africa claim that Pyramids have set a $4 million valuation on the Congolese star, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Fateh has reportedly tabled an offer for Mayele, making them strong contenders to secure his services.
"The player already has an offer from Saudi club Al-Fateh, but for a much lower amount than what we want at Pyramids," a source told Yallakora.

"Mayele renewed his contract with Pyramids for one season, so he will continue with us. Talk about his contract expiring at the end of last season is incorrect."
As one of the wealthiest clubs on the continent, Pyramids looks determined not to lose key players to rival African teams, especially as they continue to assert themselves as a continental powerhouse.
For now, it remains to be seen who will match or come close to the Pyramids’ asking price for Mayele.
