Paris Saint-Germain's wantaway star Neymar is set to lose a sizeable amount of money after his failure to turn up for the club's first day of pre-season training, amid speculation linking him with a return to FC Barcelona.
Neymar, 27, appears destined for a reunion with Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, with speculation having intensified after the Ligue 1 giants released a statement on Monday revealing that the Selecao star failed to show up for the Ligue 1 giants' first day of pre-season training, as agreed upon.

The former Blaugrana star's father offered a response to the statement released by the Parisian giants regarding Neymar's no-show, insisting that the club had known about his son's late arrival for pre-season.
As a result, however, the former Santos star will not be financially rewarded due to his failure to fulfil a good behaviour clause this month, which forms part of his staggering annual salary of €34 million (R533 million) at PSG.
As per Football Leaks, there is a clause in Neymar's contract that sees the Selecao star pocket €375 000 (R5.8 million) a month for good behaviour.
However, with the world's most expensive player having failed to make an appearance on the first day of pre-season training, it is believed the Brazil international will not receive his €375 000 bonus this month.
Clubs in France are, by law, not allowed to fine players part of their fixed wages, and as a result, PSG have implemented bonus structures in all of their players' contracts, including those plying their trade in the club's academy ranks. Instead, they can withhold this bonus in the case of poor behaviour and this money goes to the club's charity.
Les Parisiens club explained how the bonus structure works at the club.
"It is for exemplary behaviour towards sponsors, opponents, referees and officials, and for punctuality and effort in training," the club said in a statement, as per Give Me Sport.
"Even respect towards the media is one of the parts of this behavioural bonus.
"Delays or unsavoury comments made by PSG players can cost them their bonuses, and there have been a few instances in recent memory where it has been applied."
Neymar's good behaviour bonus for the month of July is therefore set to be handed to charity.
