Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has slammed one of his stars after the 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The tie remains evenly poised after the first leg as the competitions' two most successful sides went head-to-head at the Allianz Arena.

While Vinicius Junior, Leroy Sane and Harry Kane grabbed the headlines for the right reason, Bayern defender Kim Min-jae was not so lucky.

"He was too 'greedy' twice. He made the first move too early against Vinicius in the first goal and got caught by Toni Kroos' pass," Tuchel said, as quoted by iMiaSanMia.

"He speculated and was too aggressive. In the second goal, unfortunately it was another mistake. We were 5 against 2, we had the numbers. "

"There was no need to defend that aggressively against Rodrygo. The moment Eric was about to help, he [Kim] brought him [Rodrygo] down.

"Unfortunately with their quality, these mistakes get punished. But well, it happens. We have to move on."

Former Bayern and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves felt the defender was too aggressive.

“We’ve seen a lot of these games decided by mistakes. Kim was just a little bit too aggressive,” Hargreaves told TNT Sports.

“We see a lot of defenders trying to press and be really aggressive. Sometimes just stand still.

“When he watches the footage back, there’s the mistake for the penalty obviously, but the first goal is so avoidable.

“They will look at that and think they need to go to Madrid and just tidy up their mistakes. With the players they have in attack they can win the game.”
