Swallows legend’s expertise benefits Chiefs and Pirates
When Kaizer Chiefs made the decision not to renew Itumeleng Khune's contract, it left questions relating to whether they will put all their trust on Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.
It turns out Chiefs felt they needed another keeper and after exploring the market for all options within their budget, they settled for Fiacre Ntwari.

The tall Burundian has joined from TS Galaxy, where he spent a season.
Rewind to this time last year, it was Orlando Pirates feeling the need to strengthen their goalkeeping department and they settled for Melusi Buthelezi, who came in from TS Galaxy.
Buthelezi's departure at Galaxy was the reason the club brought in Ntwari from AS Kigali as replacement.
Through the season that convinced Pirates to sign Buthelezi and the subsequent arrival of Ntwari, who performed good enough for Chiefs to open their wallets, there was one common denominator.
The name is Greg Etafia – the goalkeeper coach at Galaxy since October 2021 after taking over from Lucky Shiburi.

Etafia is synonymous with Moroka Swallows, where he played for 13 years, before ultimately ending up as coach at the club through their dark days when financial crisis sunk them to the lower divisions.
The former Nigeria international's work on the pitch is shown in how both Chiefs and Pirates have turned to keepers that he has sharpened.
While both Buthelezi and Ntwari previously worked with other trainers at the clubs that they played for before, it was after going through Etafia that they both landed the biggest moves of their careers.
The reward for Etafia is that he will now be moving on with Sead Ramovic to Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

Etafia will take up the job of goalkeeper coach having earned the confidence of Ramovic, who also started out at Galaxy in October 2021.
Ramovic will also take the pair of Beganovic Adnan and Kodro Mustafa as his two assistants for the Moroccan gig.
