TS Galaxy FC chairman Tim Sukazi has given more detail on the club's bus accident earlier this week.

The accident occurred on the Schoemanskloef road in Mpumalanga on Tuesday, where a VW Polo collided with the Premier Soccer League club's team bus.

Galaxy were on their way to Mbombela where they were supposed to host Mamelodi Sundowns in a Wednesday's league encounter.

"It happened at Schoemanskloef, it was around about 11h40," Sukazi told SABC News.

"The team was on its way to Mbombela to play (against Sundowns). After learning of the accident I had to rush to the scene to assess the situation personally.

"When I got there the scene of the accident was not good, I went to our training base, and in our camp, you could see the players they were in trauma.

"There was a lot of distress, technical team, coaches, people were sitting in groups, and the coach [Sead Ramovic] was kneeling and praying.

"You know it was terrible, their mental state was very bad.

"That was not a good situation, hence we asked for this match [against Sundowns] to be postponed so it could be played when our players are in a mental frame."

Asked if players were receiving some counseling, Sukazi replied,

"Look, we'd wish to say so, but remember when this accident happened we had no idea the game was going to be postponed, so we went on to prepare.

"We only learned the following day that the game had been postponed, but we had to continue preparing for the Saturday match because on Friday the team would be leaving for Durban [to face Richards Bay FC].

"So we didn't have time to get experts who know how to deal with professional football players, because when it comes to counseling you don't just take someone who is used to doing counseling in divorce cases, you need the right person.

"But because next week we will be having a whole week, that's when we are going to assess the environment again, and after all that has been done, that's when we might call in the experts.

"We thank the CEO of the league for sympathizing with us during the difficult time.

"We would like to send our condolences to the family of the deceased, losing a mother is a very painful thing, regardless of who was wrong...it's irrelevant, a life has been lost.

"We have already started with arrangements of reaching out to her family and see how we can help them.

"In this situation, we are the big brother, so we have to rise above and assist where we can.

"And as for fans I'm saying please don't worry, the match has been postponed, meaning it's still going to take place, just keep your tickets in a safe place, you will still be able to use them."
