TS Galaxy forward Bernard Parker has vowed that The Rockets will return on home soil sharper as his side departed for a mid-season trip to Turkey.

On Thursday, The Rockets departed South Africa on their mid-season tour of Turkey. The DStv Premiership side are scheduled for some high-profile friendly matches to prepare for the resumption of local action at the end of December.

While in Turkey, TS Galaxy will lock horns with Turkish side Giresunspor on 6 December, before meeting Serie A outfit Sampdoria on 11 December and Al Batin from Saudi Arabia on 12 December.

"This is a really good trip for us, thank you to the chairman, thank you to the club for organising this beautiful trip," Bernard Parker told the club's media.

"I'm sure we will benefit from this trip. One thing I know for sure is we're going to represent South Africa. I'm sure we'll put South Africa on the map.

The 36-year-old himself is no stranger to the Europe football scene. Parker has played for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, FC Twente in the Netherlands and Panserraikos in Greece during is illustrious career.

However, since joining TS Galaxy following his release from Chiefs, the veteran forward has registered just one goal in seven appearances.

The Rockets will hope the trip inspires a change of fortunes having gone into the FIFA break on the back of a poor run of form stretching nine games without a win. 

Despite starting the season on strong footing, with an undefeated run of five matches, TS Galaxy has struggled to assert themselves.

The Rockets have struggled in front of goal, with just six goals scored so far, tied with bottom of the table Maritzburg United for the least amount of goals scored among the 16 DStv Premiership teams.
