TS Galaxy have clarified the reasons behind the shock omission of German head coach Sead Ramovic from the club's team sheet for the home DStv Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants.

Ramovic was a surprise omission from the club's team-sheet for the home match against Gallants at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening with the club immediately clarifying why he was not in the dugout.

Leading the bench for Galaxy on Tuesday was Ramovic's assistant Dogan Mensur along with Greg Etafia (goalkeeper coach), Lehlohonolo Tekane (fitness trainer), and Linathi Mbini (physiotherapist).

"Please kindly note that our coach, Sead Ramovic is in Europe to sort out personal issues and will be in South Africa in due course hence he is not on the bench. Dogan Mensur (assistant coach) will be in charge of the team in his absence," a club statement said.

Mensur – who is of Bosnia-Herzegovina origin – joined the club alongside Ramovic last year.

Ramovic's contract with Galaxy runs until June 2025 after agreeing to a three-year extension prior to the beginning of this season.

He guided the club to safety last season after joining them in crisis after five games, but they have won only two out of eight this season.
