Chiefs table huge R8 million bid for Stellies midfielder

Kaizer Chiefs look set to beat Orlando Pirates to the services of sought-after midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa after reportedly having tabled an R8 million offer to Stellenbosch FC.

Both Pirates and Chiefs are tussling for the services of Mthethwa after his sterling performances so far this season.

Amakhosi initially made an offer for the services of the former Black Leopards midfielder before the start of the season, but was turned down by Stellies.

The Mighty Buccaneers expressed their own interest in signing Mthethwa after their MTN8 clash against Stellebosch about a fortnight ago.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys have now joined the race to sign the talented midfielder ahead of the transfer window deadline on Friday.

"Chiefs are going all out to sign Mthethwa. They are now ready to break the bank in a bid to sign the player before Friday," said a source close to Kaizer Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr is expected to travel to Cape Town this week with the hope to complete the deal with Stellenbosch for the services of Mthethwa.
