Mamelodi Sundowns are currently the only team in the PSL with a women's team and are currently campaigning in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Sundowns have also since been crowned women's league championship twice in succession and lifted the CAF Champions League trophy.
Mthethwa handed the Brazilians a cheque worth R1 million for their outstanding achievement in the CAF Women's League in Sandton on Tuesday before making a call to all the PSL clubs to establish a women's football team this year.
"I would like to applaud CAF in relation to their club's licensing conditions in relation to taking into account the growth of women's football by indicating that all recognized men's clubs as for this year 2022 will be required to have a female team in their set up in order to participate in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cups," said Mthethwa before congratulating Sundowns for their outstanding outing during the CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt last year.
"Once more, let me take this opportunity to congratulate the champions and to congratulate the chairman of the champions Thlopie Motsepe and say to all of you that the example has been shown by Banyana Ba Style," he added.
Hollywoodbets Super League is comprised of 14 clubs which also include four universities in the country, Tshwane University, University of Western Cape and the University of Johannesburg.
Sundowns are set to return to the CAF Champions League again after winning the Super League last season.
