Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has looked to squash speculation of his managerial position being under threat by clarifying that Vusimuzi Vilakazi will serve as his assistant coach.
Vilakazi recently joined the Chilli Boys in the official role of technical director after his dramatic departure as co-coach of the high-flying Golden Arrows.

"Our technical director is also a coach," Mammila tells KickOff.
"For me, that is a plus because having an extra hand to help the team is a huge plus as there is a proven record of this method working.
"We have seen many top teams in world football having many coaches in their technical team, and they have achieved success.

"If it can work for other teams, why not us?
"So, it is always wise to copy from the best.
"So Vilakazi is going to sit on the bench with me, he is going to coach.
"Vilakazi is going to sit with me on the bench, where he is going to assist me."
Mammila also rubbished speculation that Vilakazi was being primed to take over from him as head coach.
"No, that's not true. I was at Swallows in the same position, and I didn't take over from Musa Nyatama.
"It worked at Swallows, so why can't it work at Chippa?
"It's not about me, it's the team that recruited me. I'm part and parcel of the team.
"Let's be honest, that gentleman, Vilakazi is a winner.
"Any coach who resigns anywhere to come and work here at Chippa, you must know that coach is a winner, and he does not doubt his ability.
"I salute that young man because he is like me, we don't doubt our abilities.
"We know what we want. We are winners."
