Kaizer Chiefs defeated Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup on Sunday, with the encounter ending in a penalty shoot-out. Here's what the fans had to say about the result.
What Happened?
The two Soweto giants were ready to start their season off on a positive note but only one could be the winner on the night, with Chiefs claiming bragging rights over their Soweto rivals.
The boys from Naturena had the chance to claim the first goal of the match after Amakhosi were awarded a penalty in the 74th minute after Ntsikelelo Nyuaza handled the ball in the box. However, Daniel Cardoso's spot-kick was not to be as it was saved by Richard Ofori.
The tie could not be separated over 90 minutes and the preseason encounter ended in a 0-0 draw. Thus, the game went to a straight penalty shoot-out after a scoreless hour and a half, with Chiefs holding their nerve to win 4-3 and Peterson proving to be the hero with two saved penalties.
