With Paris Saint-Germain confirming that they will take 'appropriate action' against Neymar for going AWOL, the father of the world's most expensive player has angrily responded to the Ligue 1 giants decision.
The Ligue 1 champions released a statement on Monday, publicising their decision to take action against Neymar, after the former Santos star failed to attend the first day of PSG's pre-season training.

In response to the statement released by PSG Neymar's father offered a different version of events, claiming that the Parisian giants were well-aware that his son would not link up with his teammates on the first day of pre-season, due to other commitments.
"We have commercial and institutional events to carry out, events that the Neymar Institute has been doing for the last five years now," he said on Fox Sports Brazil as per The Mirror.
"PSG, with the presence of the president Nasser (Al-Khelaifi), have even participated personally in these events. For that reason, I don't understand the reason for the statement. Of course we are angry, because PSG have always been aware of the situation."
Neymar, who shattered the world transfer record following his €222 million (R3.6 billion) move from Barca to PSG in 2017, has been heavily linked with a return to the Blaugrana, while Spanish giants Real Madrid, are also believed to be keen on securing his services.
