Former Chippa coach: Why we keep going back

Former head coach Vladislav Heric has explained why coaches always return to Chippa United despite the club's high rate of firing managers.

The Chilli Boys have announced the return of Morgan Mammila as the club's new head coach for next season.

Heric, who was fired on three occasions by club chairman Siviwe Mpengesi says even the best coaches in the world will not be enough for Chippa.

"They can call Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola together, even those people I don't think they will be good enough," Heric tells KickOff.

"This is not my word; the whole country thinks so. I saw it in the KickOff readers' comments.

"Somebody said it in the comments that they can call those coaches they will still not be good enough.

"I'm one of the victims. I don't know why I had to go there three times.

"Even the chairman [Mpengesi] once asked me, I don't know coach, why I keep firing you, now you're back again [laughs].

"I tell myself, I'm not going again, but I go. We all go.

"It's very simple to explain why, we are hundreds of coaches, and we have only 32 working positions.

"The country only has 32 professional clubs. But we are hundreds of coaches.

"So, if somebody offers you a job, you go. What must you do?

"I can't say it's because of poverty, because the problem is worldwide. It's not our fault we keep going back, people mustn't look at it that way.

"The question should be how can they change five people per year?

"You must open the comments on KickOff to see what people think…hey you will find a lot of things there [laughs]."
