Mamelodi Sundowns have done away with former head coach Rulani Mokwena's game model, with only one element remaining, ahead of the new season, under Manqoba Mngqithi.
Sundowns are yet to officially name a new head coach, although Mngqithi has been in charge since the departure of Mokwena, without a title.
It is understood the former Golden Arrows mentor has signed a new contract, where he is set to be officially endorsed as the head coach.

However, Kickoff previously reported that the Brazilians were considering bringing in a foreign coach to officially replace Mngqithi, although indications are that they have paused those processes.
Mokwena's departure allegedly had to do with disagreements with Sporting Director Flemming Berg, who holds authority on transfers and the style of play the club should play.
Ahead of their MTN8 quarter-final fixture against Polokwane City on Sunday, Mngqithi has revealed that during their pre-season preparations in Austria, they moved away from last season's scheme under the 37-year-old mentor of ball possession and would be playing more on transitions and wing play.
"We have moved away from a 4-4-2 formation to a 4-3-3 because of the squad that we have. I think it's more suitable to that type of a game. Very quick in breaking the lines, very quick in full-backs that can help us play wide, very good passing range from all our centre-backs, including our central midfielders. They can find anyone anywhere on the pitch," Mngqithi said on The Pitchside Podcast, published on the club's official YouTube Channel.
"And I think last season we were very strong on ball possession and defensively but I don't think we were really hurting the opponents that much behind their defence, not using width a lot. So one had to try and bring that element of wing play, which is coming nicely.

"We were very strong on transitions, very powerful. Our build ups, I must say coach Rulani did a good job in that space, the team is still good building from the back, we did not really do much in that space except to reorientate it to a 4-3-3 formation," the 53-year-old mentor added.
The changes in style of play by Mngqithi, could be influenced from Berg's office, which is responsible for the identity and technical direction the team should take.
