Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has shed some insight into how The Brazilians new playing style ahead of the season, under a somewhat new-look technical team.

In terms of arrivals, they have welcomed Romain Folz as assistant coach while Steve Komphela returns as senior coach.

These changes were put into practice during Sundowns' pre-season camp in Austria where they collected two wine from their five pre-season matches against some of the top clubs in Europe and the Gulf region.

Speaking at the launch of the MTN8 on Wednesday, Mngqithi gave some insight into how Sundowns are likely to play this season.

"If you have watched the teams I have coached, you will note, I always like and enjoy faster football," Mngqithi explained when asked about the side's' playing style.

"I believe in that type of game. The only time I would ask players to be patient, which does not mean the speed of the ball should be slow but you are less committal when you're playing against a low block where you don't want to lose possession easily and be caught on the counter.

"But personally, I believe more especially, if you're going to create two or three chances in a match you might not win, but if you create 10 you might score one.

"So, in my opinion of how I see football, you have to try to… in as much as we play for ball possession, you must also play attacking football.

"And there's a very clear difference in possession football and attacking football and personally, I'm a coach who prefers to attack the lines than to enjoy longer spells of possession."
