FIFA adds another SA club to transfer ban list

There is yet another registration ban axe that has been swung towards South Africa with Cape Town All Stars’ name the latest to be added.

All Stars are now defunct having sold their Motsepe Foundation Championship status to Black Leopards in June 2023.

However, despite the franchise being no longer active in the professional ranks, FIFA has come down on the club by placing a transfer ban to run until it is lifted.

The ban came into effect on Monday, April 15.

All Stars is the fourth status locked out into the same category along with Royal Eagles, Witbank Spurs, and BTM Sports.

While the sanction is on, details have not been provided about the breaches by the club, which normally relates to contracts.

FIFA also still has Royal AM – who are now a dead club walking – banned for the cases relating to the cases of Samir Nurkovic and Ricardo Nascimento.

Nurkovic won his case, which went all the way to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and is owed approximately R11,25 million.

Nascimento’s bill is estimated at R800 000 but complicated by the fact that his agent is also making claims after he wasn’t paid his commission.

TS Galaxy have two three-window transfer bans, which came into effect in December, and have another case against them involving Liberian midfielder Jegbay Morris Konneh.

Konneh was signed at the beginning of the 2024/25 season but left without playing and has since taken legal proceedings against the club.

His claim is now at FIFA.

Pretoria Callies have been serving a three-window ban.
