Barca 'plot shock move' for ex-Real Madrid player

FC Barcelona are reportedly plotting a surprise move for a former Real Madrid player as new coach Hansi Flick looks to bolster his squad.

The Catalan giants have a dilemma on their hands with regards to Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, who was unhappy with his minutes under Xavi Hernandez.

Roque's agent has threatened to look for a move elsewhere if his client's situation does not change under the new coach.

Should the Brazilians decide to leave, AS have reported that Barcelona could look to sign Getafe striker Borja Mayoral.

Robert Lewandowski remains Barcelona's senior striker but they will be left thin in the striker's department if Roque moves elsewhere in the off-season.

Mayoral managed to score 15 goals in LaLiga this term despite being kept out by a meniscus injury for latter parts of the season.

The former Los Blancos striker, however, does have a contract with Getafe that only expires in 2027 and is reportedly the highest-paid player at the club, which could prove to be a hurdle for Barcelona.

Mayoral came up through the Madrid academy and made 33 appearances for the first team before spending time out on various loans.
