The English giants are reported to have agreed to pay the Italian club £60 million (R1.3 billion), including add-ons, for the forward's signature.
While other targets such as Randal Kolo Muani, Mohammed Kudus and Goncalo Ramos were also considered as options for United boss Erik ten Hag after pulling out of the race for Harry Kane, Hojlund now becomes his third signing of the window, having already brought in Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
Paris Saint-Germain were also believed to be interested in the attacker's services, but it is claimed the 20-year-old only wanted to join the three-time European champions once their interest was solidified.

Hojlund contributed to 23 goals in 42 matches for Atalanta last season, while he has also scored six times in six appearances for the Denmark National team
