In this edition of My First, former Kaizer Chiefs, Ria Stars and Dynamos striker Sydney Moshikaro reveals why he became an Amakhosi fan from an early age.
Moshikaro exclusively reveals his first experiences in life and footballing career.
My First School:
"Matlala Primary School. It's in Moutse West, in Limpopo. That's where I grew up. I can say it was okay on my first day at school because, as a kid, I was always interested in going to school like older kids in my community. My generation differs from the current one."
My First Kiss:
"Nothing was exciting about it [laughs], it was just [the] excitement of having kissed a girl for the first time. I think I was 16 years of age back then. I was always disciplined."
My First Favourite Club:
"Kaizer Chiefs. My father was a big fan of Kaizer Chiefs. I just followed his choice."
My First Soccer boots:
"Olympic, my father bought them for me. I was just happy to play football. I think I was 13 years old at the time."
My First Goal:
"That was in my first game of the season against Manning Rangers at Peter Mokaba Stadium. I was playing for Ria Stars.
"The late Banda Kgasago made an assist, setting it up for me on a silver platter, between the keeper and the defence, and I just headed it in."
My First Red Card:
"I never got one because I was the one always in possession of the ball [laughs[."
My First Individual Award:
"I was the Man of the Match in the game [where] we beat [Orlando] Pirates 3-2. I scored two goals during the Rothmans Cup."
My First Trophy With A Club:
"I guess it's because I retired early, or it's because of the injury I suffered. I was 28 when I stopped playing."
My First Car:
"My first was a Golf GTi. I was tired of using the team bus to get to training, and another thing [is that], in those days, the likes of Dynamos used to pay us in cheques. So, on payday, you needed to rush to the bank before the money was finished.
"The car cost me R90 000. It was top money back then."
