A Premier League star has taken issue with the 2024 Ballon d'Or award, describing Vinicius Junior not winning it as "embarrassing".
It was Manchester City star Rodri who walked away with what some would consider to be the most prized individual award in football on Monday night.

The Spaniard played an important role in helping his club win the EPL last season and was an integral part of the Spain side that emerged triumphant at the 2024 UEFA European Championship too.
While Spain and the Citizens rejoiced, however, Real Madrid chose not to attend the ceremony in protest of their Brazilian star not being recognised as the best player in the world.
Vinicius was believed to have initially been the favourite to win the award, but finished second in the overall ranking, ahead of teammate Jude Bellingham, who placed third.
Tottenham Hotspur and Brazil star Richarlison has since expressed his dismay at his compatriot not coming first.
"We, all football enthusiasts, eagerly await individual awards every season. Today, all Brazilian football fans woke up expecting to see another Brazilian player win the world's best award after so long," he wrote in a post on social media.
"Unfortunately, due to incomprehensible criteria, the prize eluded us.
"Don't get me wrong, Rodri is an exceptional player who deserves recognition among the best.
"However, it was embarrassing that Vini didn't win the Ballon d'Or, and the only loser today was football.
"I recall Vini saying his dream was to have the entire Brazil cheering for him.
"That day was today! You're a giant and the world's best, kid! No trophy will change that. Keep moving forward and never be silenced! We're with you!"
