The latest Soweto Derby will again have the pair of Siphiwe Tshabalala and Happy Jele still standing as prominent names in this fixture for both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Tshabalala last played in the derby on March 3, 2018, when Pirates won 3-1.

That was his 31st appearance in this fixture, which came from his 11-and-a-half-year stay at Chiefs.

Of note about Tshabalala's derby appearances is that they came consecutively from his first in November 2007 till his last in 2018.

Throughout the PSL era years, 31 is the most appearances made by any player in official matches in this fixture.

Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker both played 29, while Itumeleng Khune reached 28.

On the opposite side, Jele made his last appearance in this fixture as a substitute on October 30, 2020, when he replaced Thulani Hlatshwayo towards the end in a 3-0 MTN8 semi-final first leg win.
