The Uruguay international reached a verbal agreement with the Florida-based outfit a month ago, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, and has penned a one-year deal that also includes an option to extend for another season.

Earlier this month, the former Ajax Amsterdam forward confirmed that he would be leaving Brazilian side Gremio. The 36-year-old joined them in January this year from Uruguayan outfit Nacional.

Now, the striker will be reunited with his good friend Messi after the pair parted ways in 2020 when Suarez left Barcelona to join Atletico Madrid, with whom he won his fifth LALIGA title.

During his time at the Blaugrana, he racked up 195 goals and 113 assists in just 283 games, according to Transfermarkt, and helped the side become Spanish champions on four occasions, as well UEFA Champions League winners in 2015.
