Mamelodi Sundowns remain unbeaten in the CAF Champions League group stages following a 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal on Saturday afternoon.
Brian Onyango, who replaced Grant Kekana in defence in midweek against Royal AM, retained his place at the back as Sundowns featured just one change.
Al-Hilal made an encouraged opening and were nearly ahead from a first-time shot by Lilepo Makabi following a ball over the top, but Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams parried away.
Lilelop was set through again from another ball in-behind the defence and applied another close-range shot which Williams again smothered away.
Masandawana did stage a few moves following the half-hour mark, but battled to get balls through to the front-man and top-scorer Peter Shalulile.
Al-Hilal needed to make a substitution due to injury five minutes to halftime and introduced Atahar El Tadir for Mwafag Toto, as the match remained tightly balanced.
The Brazilians' rare threat came on the stroke of halftime after a speculative shot by Teboho Mokoena from outside the area had Abdalla Aboesheren in a spot of bother.
The Brazilians made the breakthrough midway in the second half as Abu-Eshrein spilled a free-kick by Aubrey Modiba and Khuliso Mudau reacted swiftly to slot in from a tight angle.
Florent Ibenge's men equalised three minutes later when Williams conceded possession in a crucial area whilst trying to beat the high-press and Abdelrahman Yousif Yagoub pounced to slot in an empty net.
Hilal were renewed following the leveller and Lilepo burst through from the right before drawing a cutback and shaved the top of Williams' goal.
There were drama in the final minute when Onyango conceded a penalty following a studs-up challenge, but the subsequent spot-kick from Yasir El-Tayeb was saved firmly by Williams.
Both sides went at each other thereafter, but settled for a draw which keep Hilal as well as Al Ahly SC hopes to progress from the group alive ahead of the final match day
