Pirates will play the decider against RS Berkane of Morocco at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria on Friday night (21h00) aiming to wipe the agony of a disappointing domestic campaign by at least finishing with silverware.
"We want to be remembered. We want to be in the history books," says Hotto in highlighting just how much they want to go up the podium as winners.
The Bucs are in their second final in this competition having come out runners-up in the 2015 edition.
They were also Champions League winners in 1995 when the competition was still known as the African Cup of Champions Clubs which their fans still take pride in though they also lost in the final nine years ago.
Though the Confederation Cup is a second-tier competition it carries approximately R20 million in prize money with the winner going on to play in the CAF Super Cup against the Champions League winners.
"We will definitely make the fans happy on Friday by lifting the Confederation Cup trophy.
"We can't go out there and think 'okay we are here in the final now and we are just there. We have to do the business first. So, our mandate is simple, we just go there, and do the business because we bring the occasion. We are not going to the occasion.
"The impact (of winning the trophy) is big but for us, as players, we just need to go out there and do the business. We just need to go there and win it for him (club chairman Irvin Khoza), for the supporters, and for our families.
"We have learned a lot and have the experience now which is why we are now in the final. We will definitely face a team that is good technically with a good coach, so we are ready for them.
"When I joined Pirates that was my aim to come here and win silverware for the team.
"This is my second year, last season we won the MTN8. This season everything else is gone, the league, Nedbank, MTN8, and what is left for us now is the Confederation Cup, so we have to go all out and get this.
"We will feel at home because all the Nigerians will support us because we have a brother (Olisa Ndah) like him who's playing for the team, so we'll be at home. We will feel at home when we go there.
"There is no pressure. As a midfielder, my mandate is always to assist my teammate while also scoring goals and then helping in defence. There won't be any difference on Friday night because I will go all out with my teammates and do the best that I can," says Hotto.
