Senegalese forward Pape Ousmane Sakho will this weekend turn into a focal point with a cluster of clubs hovering over the horizon seeking to make a final assessment in the bid to land his services.
Sakho is in the books of Tanzanian giants Simba SC and will be in Johannesburg for Sunday's crunch CAF Confederation Cup tie against Orlando Pirates.
According to sources, Pirates have taken interest in the Senegalese whose name has also been mentioned to Kaizer Chiefs.
There is also growing interest from North Africa and what is certain is that with his name in the shopping basket of several clubs a move in the next transfer window is imminent.
Though the Senegalese is amongst the better earners at Simba his earnings will improve with a move to the PSL where he stands to have his package doubled.
He remains under contract with Simba but is said to be keen on a deal that will better his earnings which are currently well below six figures in the rand value.
Should the interest turn into offers Simba will then make the call by placing a price tag.
The 25-year-old is only in his first season with Simba, but his performances have given suggestions that he might be suited to a move away from Tanzania.
When Simba controversially won against Pirates on Sunday, Sakho was a constant threat.
He joined Simba from Senegalese club Teungueth and has previously had a stint in the French lower divisions at Noisy-le-Grand.
The PSL has not been a popular destination for Senegalese footballers through the years with Issa Sarr, Mame Niang, Mor Diouf, Mamadou Dialo, Baptiste Faye, El-Hadji Samb, Bouna Coundoul and Vito Badiane amongst just a few to land in South Africa.
