Ratifo (28) has played all of his club career football in the German lower divisions with his current club being 1.CfR Pforzheim who play in the Oberliga Baden-Wurternberg (fifth tier league).
With the German league only resuming in March after the winter break, he has been allowed to travel to South Africa for his assessment at Chiefs.
Ratifo has previously played in the COSAFA Cup here in South Africa and is familiar with happenings in the DStv Premiership.

He has already been playing for the Mozambique national team since 2017 with his two of most recent caps having come in the AFCON qualifiers games against Rwanda and Benin.
The legendary Chiquinho Conde oversaw both those games.
On Tuesday, Ratifo got a run against Swallows at Sturrock Park during a training match and is expected to continue training for the rest of the month.

Chiefs already have Congolese forward striker Christian Saile Basomboli on trials.
Saile was the first to arrive at Naturena and played in a training match against University of Pretoria over the weekend before being brought on to do duty again at Sturrock Park against Swallows on Tuesday.
The left-footed forward has been captaining Nchanga Rangers with whom he won promotion to the Zambian Super League walking away as the league's top scorer.
Also under assessment at Chiefs is Mozambican attacking midfielder Amansio Joao Pita 'Neymar' Canhembe.
The 25-year-old came through the ranks of Sporting Lisbon but didn't break through into the senior team and following a stint with Liga Desportiva de Maputo he then returned to Portugal for a stint with lower division club Sertanense.
He then returned to LD Maputo before playing for the reserve teams of Vitoria Setubal and Maritimo.
Canhembe has already won caps with the Mozambique senior national team in both AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.
