After confirming the signing of striker Ranga Chivaviro, it's been revealed that the Glamour boys beat out the likes of Orlando Pirates, Richards Bay, AmaZulu, and Tanzanian outfit Young Africans SC (Yanga).
A source in the player's camp told Kick Off that the Buccaneers and Gallants had agreed a fee for the 30-year-old, who then rejected the chance to join Pirates.
Pirates reportedly tabled a better offer than Chiefs for Chivaviro's services and already scheduled a medical for the player before he called to inform them that he prefers a move to Chiefs.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "How Chiefs swooped for Chivaviro as Pirates booked medical" story:
"23/24 is Khosi's season. We have all the right materials," says Khosiological.
"I'm still waiting for Richards Bay to make their movement regarding Chivaviro's signing with Chiefs, while he signed a pre contract with them," says admahlalela.
"At last Chiefs can celebrate something. Let's hope it is not another Castro, Billiat, Ntshangase aka Champagne Pass disaster. Hope this will work," says thulasmda.
"Excitement is building at Naturena, I can't wait to see fans holding their heads in disbelief," says makhause(2).
"Let's just hope and wish that this Ranga thing is true. This just puts to rest the notion that Chiefs are the best payers, I hope we never hear that line again please," says Zohlah
"He doesn't want to win trophies," says Mpho P.
"Why do I sense a FIFA ban looming," says StheLucipher.
"Pre-contract is null and void" if the player has 1 year option. Meaning Marumo still call the shots here. Chiefs learnt their lesson long ago. There's no danger here," says Mokaubere.

Khama Billiat's future at Chiefs is truly up in the air after his contract expired at the end of June.
Billiat's has spent the last five years at Naturena and is out of contract for the first time since arriving in South Africa over a decade ago.
With the Zimbabwean now heading into the twilight years of his career, it's likely that his next deal at Chiefs or elsewhere will not be a high-profile one, as clubs such as Yanga and teams in the Middle-East reportedly showing interest in Billiat.
The 32-year-old is said to be keen on staying in Gauteng, where he's built comfortable life for himself and his family since his days at Sundowns.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Billiat facing uncertain future after expiration of Chiefs contract" story:
"How can you leave a team that is winning trophies and join a team that hasn't won a trophy in decade. Billiat won his first and last trophy at Sundowns, period," says bhekilekhuleni6.
"One can never tell what the other one thinks but I would guess Billiat is regretting ever leaving Sundowns," says makhause(2).
"He scammed Chiefs this one," says Mpho P.
"He is milking Bobby's money without compensation. Give him another three years contract," Saavedra.
"How the mighty Khama has fallen. The grass is not always green on the other side. Billiat won trophies at Sundowns only," says thulasmda.
"Go back and milk them again then stay home nursing your injuries," says Dominate-downs.
"This is one player that can be very useful and Chiefs should just do everything to keep him. If Chiefs can get him fit, hayi I don't know, with Mmodi, Saile, Dolly, Chivaviro, and Du Preez in that frontline, hayi only God knows," says mthunzijack7.
"I think the main problem currently is his age, injury record and an over inflated salary. I think Chiefs needs to man up and cut their losses," says sizweking.
