Sundowns hosted Al Hilal at the Royal Bafokeng stadium last month after both Lucas Moripe Stadium and Loftus stadium failed to meet CAF standards in hosting major football events.
The Brazilians are now seeking a new alternative venue to host the Red Devils for a return match due to the poor condition of the pitch at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
Kabo yellow co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi says they are still waiting for CAF to approve a new venue to host Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League next week.
"We are looking at trying other stadiums for the Al Ahly game based on the condition that Royal Bafokeng Stadium was the last time around but at this stage, nothing yet is confirmed but we are hopeful that we are going to play somewhere else except Royal Bafokeng.
"It's just a matter of time that CAF responds to our wish and we will take it from there," said Mngqithi.
Sundowns are currently sitting on top of Group A in the CAF Champions League after beating Al Ahly 1-0 in Cairo last weekend.
