Gaston Sirino is set to seal his sixth consecutive league title at Mamelodi Sundowns this season while still struggling for appreciation back home in football powerhouse Uruguay.
Sirino joined Sundowns in January 2018 from Bolivian club Bolivar before quickly settling to provide seven goal contributions in 20 appearances during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign under Pitso Mosimane.

Sirino lifted his first league title in South Africa just five months after arriving and has continued with his title-winning achievements having also lifted the Bolivian championship the previous year.
In his second season the Sundowns attacker made 38 appearances with an impressive 23 goal contributions as his stature grew at the Brazilians who were crowned champions again.
Following his eye catching start Sirino soon started gaining interest from North Africans sides.

Sirino's effectiveness remained at the top for the 2019/20 season as he managed another 23 goal contributions in 41 appearances for the third league title in a row.
Clubs from Egypt continued hovering, but Sundowns responded by calming down with a new and improved five-year deal.
The next season Mosimane was gone and Sirino dropped to eight goal contributions in 27 appearances.
He added a fourth league title.
Then last season he was on nine goal contributions in 25 games with the league as landing at Chloorkop.

This term he has played 18 games and has seven goal contributions.
With Sundowns sitting on a 20-points lead, the league could be sealed before they play their next league game handing Sirino his sixth in a row in South Africa.
This means throughout his stay in South Africa, the 32-year-old has been a league champion in every season.

Unfortunately, he remains little known back home in Uruguay where he last played for Rampla Juniors FC over a decade ago before moving to Chile and Bolivia.
He still has another two years remaining on his deal and could reach eight in a row by the time his contract runs up.

Meanwhile, Sirino has received his South African citizenship and is now available for Bafana Bafana selection.
His eligibility for Bafana has divided opinion despite the global trends that have left players choosing the countries that they want to represent.
Sirino hasn't featured in the last nine games due to injury with his last appearance having come against Sekhukhune United at the end of January.
