South African soccer legend Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba blesses us with his Dream Team of players he has coached over the last two decades.
Mashaba has coached many sides in his coaching career including the Swaziland and South African national teams, Vaal Reef Stars, Black Leopards and Witbank Spurs.
The 69-year-old is most recently remembered for leading Bafana Bafana during a relatively fruitful tenure as head coach that brought decent results, before he was sacked after a spectacular rant at SAFA on live national television.
The former Nedbank Ke Yona Team coach is well known for believing in young stars and has also coached the junior national teams.
He famously led the enormously talented Amaglug-glug team that participated at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games – and the Dream Team he has assembled here reflects a fondness for those days.
Shakes, who has named himself as the manager, has stated to snl24.com/kickoff that the following tactics will be deployed for this fantasy team:
Playing systems: 4-4-2 and 3-5-2
Defensive system when playing away: 3-6-1
