My Dream Team - Jacob Mokhasi

In the latest edition of My Dream Team, former goalkeeper and South Africa international Jacob Mokhasi chooses the 10 best players he played alongside in his football career.

What's the formation?

"4-4-2.

Goalkeeper…

"The one and only Jacob Mokhasi. I started playing international football before I even turned professional. I played with the SA Under-23s before I even signed with Wits. Jacob is crazy, he is very vocal, he commands his defence well and can distribute the ball well."

Defenders…

"My right-back is Brett Evans. He knew his primary duties of being a defender. He knew when to attack and when not to attack.

"Left-back I will go for Tsietsi Mahoa. He was not your usual left-back he loved dribbling. But he knew when to do it.

"Centre-backs I will put Nasief Morris. Very quiet, but he could do the job for you. He achieved so much at a young age.

"I will pair him with Leonard Xaba. Very good in the air and a team player. Aerially he was top notch."

Midfield…

"In the middle of the park I will put Bennedict 'Tso' Vilakazi. They don't call you 'Tso' for nothing. A box-to-box kind of player.

"I will pair him with Andile Cele because he's got ushukela and can spray those passes. He can play as number 10; he can score goals.

"On the right-hand side I will put Thabiso 'Skapie' Malatsi. One on One Skapie will leave you dead.

"On the left it's Tekano 'Shoes' Ledimo. He was very fast and could take players on."

CAM - Benedict Vilakazi - In front of Mngomeni and

Strikers…

"Lesley Manyathela he was a top, top striker. I remember we once played a game in Angola. It was packed to the rafters. Now a day before, we were doing finishing at training. Albert Kometsi had the ball and he passed it to Joseph Makhanya on the side, and Makhanya played a cross and Manyathela scored. Can you believe during the game on Saturday the very same movement happened exactly like that and Manyathela scored the very same way.

"I will pair Manyathela with Daniel 'Massaro' Matsau. He can shoot he can score from any angle. He could jump he could score with a header."

Substitutes…

Goalkeeper…

"Jason Barnard. He played for Hellenic. He was very good."

Defender…

"Gabriel 'Ninja' Mofokeng. A natural born leader, that's why he played in Amsterdam at a very young age."

Midfield…

"Joseph Makhanya. He wasn't scared to take on a defender."

Striker…

"Coxwell 'Magic' Ratshivhadelo. If he was still playing this thing of goalkeepers starting balls from the back wouldn't work with 'Magic'. He'd put pressure on you, you wouldn't know what to do with the ball."

Coach…

"Bra Shakes Mashaba will be the coach. He believed in me. He played me in all the Under-23s matches and even took me to Bafana Bafana set-up."
