Sibusiso Sibeko reveals Tshakhuma TTM broke promise of a contract

The former Golden Arrows striker took an unexpected decision to leave Arrows after 14 years with the club due to a lack of game-time.

But Rise and Shine was not his first choice. There had been an agreement with TTM after he received his clearance from Arrows, but the deal fell through.

Sibeko reveals that what broke him the most was the fact that the Limpopo side did not keep their promise after he spent three days with the club and even went to their pre-season training camp.

The 25-year-old says when it came time for him to sign a contract, TTM chairman Lawrence Mulaudzi – who could not be reached for comment – was no longer available and could not take any calls.

"I was told to come to Joburg to finalise my contract and talk to the chairman on the day after the termination of my contract with Arrows and I was rushing to go sign with TTM, but suddenly we couldn't get hold of the chairman," Sibeko tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"My agent tried calling him, nothing. After a couple of days he got back to me then I was told to join the team in camp in Pretoria and they would send my agent my contract after my first session.

"I told my agent, I started training, and no contract. Even at training I was doing well and scoring, waiting for them to send my contract. He said they would send it but after three days they told me they won't be needing me.

"The sad part is, if it wasn't for them I wasn't going to terminate my contract with Arrows to be honest. I left Arrows while I still had two years' contract left."

Once a MultiChoice Diski Challenge top scorer, Sibeko has shared more details on what led to his decision to ask for his clearance at Arrows.

"Because I wanted more game-time and a change of environment, to try to get my form back as I'd been with Arrows for too long," he says.

"Arrows didn't want to release me mfwethu, to be honest the chairlady still wanted me but my agent and I had an agreement that he would find me a team for game-time.

"He then got TTM. It was a Wednesday I remember, after training my agent called me to inform me about the team, so he asked the chairlady to release me because I wasn't playing anymore and I was even left behind for the bio-bubble."
