Kaizer Chiefs defender Yagan Sasman is well aware of the notion that Capetonian players tend to struggle in Johannesburg but is adamant he can buck the trend.
Sasman recently joined Chiefs on a free transfer after being let go of by his boyhood club Ajax Cape Town at the end of last season.

The 23-year-old has made a positive impression in the five appearances – including the recent Shell Helix Ultra Cup friendly, earning praise from coach Ernst Middendorp as well as the Amakhosi faithful.
Though it's still early days for the lanky full-back, there is a conception that after settling in and finding their feat, Cape-born players tend to struggle to maintain their standards up in Gauteng, more particularly with the Soweto sides.
The likes of Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien are recent examples of players who returned to The Mother City following underwhelming spells at Orlando Pirates.

However, Sasman is confident he will not fall into being part of the statistics of such players and has outlined his approach to ensuring he remains consistent for the Glamour Boys.
"I've heard that a lot, people saying Cape Town players can't survive in Johannesburg, but I feel like it's up to the player himself," said Sasman.
"Everybody is not the same and I think about it every time I play a game, like, you're only as good as your last game and I just take it one game at a time, and I need to impress in every single game."
