Former Cape Town City and TS Galaxy striker Wayde Lekay has fired his side to a league title in Asia this season.
The South African forward joined the I-League club in September 2024 after leaving Swedish club FC Trollhättan, where he was for six months.
During the 2022/2023 pre-season, the 27-year-old striker spent several weeks training at Kaizer Chiefs, but the two parties did not reach an agreement.

At the Glamour Boys, Lakay was poised to fill the void left by the former Mamelodi Sundowns goal-poacher Leonardo Castro, Serbian star Samir Nurkovic, and Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole.
Lekay had also played for SuperSport United's reserve team as well as several South African lower-division clubs before signing with the Rockets in 2020.
After things seemingly did not work in the Betway Premiership, the Cape Town-born center-forward has now established himself in South Asia as he has been in outstanding form for the I-League giants.

Lekay helped the Brothers secure their third I-League title after being named the 2024/25 champions. In the recently ended season, he netted 11 goals and provided four assists in 20 league matches.
Brothers will be plying their trade in the Indian Super League next season after finishing top with 40 points, just one ahead of second-placed Inter Kashi FC in the 12-team league table.
