Percy Tau named Egyptian Premier League Player of the Week again

Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has won yet another award in Egypt following his latest goalscoring heroics for Al Ahly last week.

Tau climbed to the top of the Egyptian Premier League standings on Thursday when he netted twice in Al Ahly's 4-1 win over Smouha, taking his tally to five goals in just six appearances for the campaign.

The 27-year-old's match-winning performance ensured that Pisto Mosimane's side maintained their perfect start to the season and has seen him recognised with the Player of the Week award, his second such accolade in six weeks.

Tau had previously been named Player of the Week in the opening round of fixtures after he netted a brace on debut against Ismaily, and the Bafana Bafana star has now added a second accolade to his name.

He is the only player to have won the award on multiple occasions during the 2021/22 season and, on current form, is an early contender to win both the Player of the Year and Golden Boot awards.
