An Orlando Pirates legend has revealed an interesting reason why he thinks Pitso Mosimane joining the Soweto giants would be the wrong move.
On Thursday, Pirates announced in a statement that Jose Riveiro will be stepping down as head coach at the end of the season.

Mosimane appears to be a popular choice among fans to succeed the Spaniard.
"Deep down, I want Pitso to coach Pirates, but at the same time, I don't want him to come back to the PSL. I think he is bigger than the PSL," says Lawrence 'Killer' Maake.
"This is a sensitive issue; not many coaches succeed at Pirates. Riveiro has managed to achieve what many coaches have failed to do.
"I don't want Pitso back in the PSL, he deserves to be at a higher level than that. I would be happy if he comes to Pirates, but it would feel like a step backward for him.
"Given what he has accomplished so far, he should be aiming for something beyond PSL football.
"It's disappointing for me. Riveiro has made significant contributions during his time here," he adds.
Maake notes the tactician's contribution to the Soweto giants, winning cups, improved the side's standard of play, and introducing several young players to the team.
"He has produced players for the national team players who are integral to the team's success.

"I disagree with anyone who says Riveiro didn't achieve anything at Pirates. I'm disappointed that he is leaving. However, if he is unhappy with certain conditions, why would he choose to stay?
"I don't know if he is feeling homesick or if there is pressure from within the club, or maybe he feels the need to win the league," concludes 'Killer'.
