Al Ahly progressed to a fourth successive CAF Champions League final following a 4-0 aggregate win over Esperance in the semi-finals.
The host were forced to name a single change from the first-leg last weekend as Ali Lotfi filled in goal following the injury to Mohamed El-Shenawy.
Percy Tau, who starred in the other clash last Friday, continued where he left off as he angled in a well-weighted through ball for Mahmoud Kahraba to fire off the upright.
Tau cut the Tunisians to piece again when he delivered a defence-splitting pass that set Hussein El Shahat in before the latter applied a clever dink over Mohamed Debchi at the midway phase.
El Shahat got a chance to bag a brace with a clear opening in the heart of the six-yard area from a clever delivery before the half-hour mark, but he went over.
The Tunisian giants enjoyed a bit of momentum in the second half following a disappointing opening and furthermore began to threaten the Cairo Red Devils too.
However, the opposite defence were on high alert as a header from a corner-kick worked a rather smart from Lotfi after Ahly were caught in two minds in their own half.
Al Ahly did have a chance to go two up on the evening from a first-time shot outside the area by El Shahat from a loose ball, but it was cleared off the goal-line.
Red Devils coach Marcel Koller refreshed the playing personnel inside the closing exchanges and had Ahmed Abdel Kader, Mohamed Magdy and Taher Mohamed come on.
The Cairo Red Devils remained keen to add more with full-time on the horizon, but weren't able to get their wish though still sealed a comfortable first-leg victory.
