Ex-Pirates coach makes history with Simba

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids made history with the Tanzanian side after reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final on Sunday.

The Tanzanian Premier League side played to a goalless draw against Stellenbosch in the second leg of their semi-final, which was enough to seal their spot in the final.

It is the first time that Simba will be competing in Confederation Cup final in their history.

Davids praises his Simba players after advancing but insisted that they keep the celebrations to the minimum.

"The pitch wasn't conducive to football and we could not play our possession game as usual. The players decided 'let's manage the game'," Davids said, as per Pan African Football.

"Today we showed that we can fight. Today we showed that if we have to change our game plan, if we have to manage the game in terms of CAF football, they can do it so I'm proud of my players."

"Whoever comes (the opponent in the final), we have to stop celebrations too short. I don't really believe in celebrating too much after a semifinal otherwise that's your limit and you just happy with being in the final. Nope, as Simba fans we gotta fight and we gotta fight to pick up the trophy."
