Brazil thrash Tunisia in final pre-World Cup friendly

Brazil 5-1 Tunisia

Brazil thrashed ten-man Tunisia 5-1 in their final international friendly before the FIFA World Cup.

FC Barcelona's Raphinha made the breakthrough for the Selecao early on, but a flying header by Montassar Talbi levelled matters in the space of minutes for the Carthage Eagles.

The five-time World champions began to take full control thereafter, as Richarlison restored parity before Neymar Junior added to the equation with a penalty-kick.

The drama filled first half didn't stop after Raphinha bagged his brace to make it four and the Carthage Eagles had Dylan Bronn dismissed before the break.

Brazil added more woes to the North African plight late in the match with Pedro made it five to round off a fine evening's work the South American giants.

Paraguay 0-0 Morocco

Morocco ended their preparations for the FIFA World Cup in November this year with a goalless draw against a stubborn Paraguay.

The Atlas Lions will once again be at the World Cup after participating in the previous edition in Russia four years ago.

Nicaragua 0-1 Ghana

Ghana needed to dig deep to see off the little known Nicaragua 1-0 at the Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Spain to end their final clash before the World Cup on a high.

Ajax Amsterdam's highly-rated attacker Mohamed Kudus featured as the likes of Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey earned a starting berth too.

Sporting Clube Portugal's forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku bagged the encounter's only strike in the first half as the Black Stars returned to winning following their loss to Brazil.

Algeria 2-1 Nigeria

Algeria overcame Nigeria 2-1 in a friendly match out at the Miloud Hadefi Olympic Complex on Tuesday evening.

Terem Moffi had the Super Eagles off to a flying start in the opening nine minutes, but a penalty from Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez before halftime pulled the Algerians level.

The Desert Eagles came out for the second half fired up and found the winning strike through Youcef Atal and saw the Super Eagles down and out.

South Korea 1-0 Cameroon

Cameroon's final encounter ahead of the World Cup in two months time ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat to South Korea away from home.

Tottenham Hotspur's star man and the captain of Korea Heung Min-Son got the winning strike well inside the closing phases of the opening half and left the Indomitable Lions heartbroken.
