Pitso Mosimane: Finishing top doesn't guarantee CAF Champions League title

The Red Devils got their first win in Group A after defeating Sudanese outfit Al-Merrikh at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday evening.

Mosimane once again called on CAF to introduce the Video Assistant Referee, but did admit they need to work on their defensive issues.

"In the group stages, the same things happen every year, and last year we drew at home against AS Vita Club," Mosimane said after the game, as per KingFut.

"For the third time in a row, I say we need VAR in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

"Our defence was good until we scored the second goal, then we conceded two goals and in the end we scored the third goal and won, but we will work to solve the defensive problems.

"Ahmed Abdelkader is a very good player, but we expect more from him and he will score goals.

"Topping the group does not mean that you have won the title. We have won the title twice and we finished second both years, but I certainly like to win the group."
