Lionel Messi to blame for Kylian Mbappe desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain?

It has been claimed that Lionel Messi's signing has contributed to Kylian Mbappe's reported desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The French forward is out of contract at the end of this season, and is widely linked with a move to Real Madrid.

In an attempt to keep him on their books, the Ligue 1 leaders are believed to have offered the superstar a record-breaking new deal that would make him the highest-paid player in the world.

However, Le Parisien has now reported that the money offered may not be enough to persuade the France international to stay in Paris, with it being claimed that Messi's arrival in August last year has negatively impacted the 23-year-old.

Per the abovementioned French publication, the Argentine's presence has caused the breaking up of the effective attacking partnership between Mbappe and Neymar, and is also believed to have changed the ex-Monaco starlet's status in the dressing room.

This change in status for Mbappe is said to have impacted his mindset and his thoughts on winning the Ballon d'Or while a PSG payer.

The forward reportedly believes a move to Los Blancos would provide him with the platform to be the outright star of their squad and give him more of a chance to win the biggest individual awards int he game.

Despite the reported off-field issues, Mbappe has netted 22 goals and provided 16 assists in 32 matches across all competitions for the French giants this season, making him a vital cog in Mauricio Pochettino's side.
