Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach and captain Benson Mhlongo has hit back at fans who criticised the standard of football in Saturday's Soweto derby.
The only goal of the game was scored thanks to an own goal by Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah in a win for rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
"To me, yes, the derby did meet my expectations because no one expected Chiefs to win," Mhlongo tells KickOff.

"So it shows the derby surpassed every game.
"One team can do bad, but when it comes to derby, they switch on. As a player, it motivates you.
"So to compare standards I cannot accept, we have to accept the different generations are not the same.
"Benni McCarthy has gone to Manchester United, so why do our clubs not do the same and ask the likes of Pollen Ndlanya and Jerry Sikhosana to help.
"We don't give these legends a chance to impart their knowledge, and we expect these guys to learn on their own, so it's going to take time.
"It was better with us because we played the derby when some of the legends were still playing.
"We learned a lot from them, hence my style of play is similar to Neil Tovey, Lucas Radebe, Linda Buthelezi and Eric Tinkler.
"That's because I used to play with them, and they used to guide me.
"Because these ones are on their own it's going to take them long. It's our own doing.
"How many of them rub shoulders with the guys who used to play the game? It's only a few of them.
"Bradley Grobler is proving it at SuperSport United because his father Les Grobler, is teaching him how to move in the box.
"So as long you don't have a mentor next to you, you will find it harder to make it in life."
