A triumphant head coach Rulani Mokwena says he is proud of winning "the biggest trophy in the country" after Mamelodi Sundowns finally got their hands on the DStv Premiership title.
Sundowns clinched their sixth consecutive league title with seven games to spare by ending their season with a 1-1 draw against Maritzburg United at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Tuesday.
Despite dropping points in their final game, Mokwena was in delightful mood as his side lifted the trophy.

"Congratulations to the players, this is the most important trophy in the country, it's the championship, it's a tournament that goes for ten months," Mokwena told SuperSport TV.
"It goes home and away, against every opponent and you've got to be at your best consistently to win it. You can fluke one or two wins, three maybe, four and then a cup is delivered.
"But you need to be extremely consistent to win the championship. 30 games, 15 opponents, home and away and this magnificent football club is doing it over and over again. Six times, congratulations, very proud of everyone associated with the club. Congratulations to the players, very proud of this magnificent group," he said.
Mokwena finished the season unbeaten in the league since he was made the head coach in October last year.
"Privileged and if there is another word, honoured and if there's another word, lucky. I'm privileged and understand the magnitude that comes with the privilege," he said.
"I'm extremely honoured because I have the responsibility to lead an incredible football club and I'm extremely lucky and that is through the grace of God. And you know when you fail a lot of times, you then understand that when you succeed it cannot only be your strength, your own intelligence.
"There's some divine intervention that works and at the same time I feel extremely fortunate that I've got an amazing group of players, incredible support from this football club, from the board, from the chairman, the supporters," Mokwena added.
"And over the years, short number of years, I've grown a very thick skin and I just pray that God continues to give us more strength to be able to lead this football club to even greater glory and this is only the beginning."
