Seven-time African champions Egypt have confirmed their new head coach after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The Pharaohs have appointed Egypt legend Hossam Hassan as their new head coach, taking over from Rui Vitoria.

The likes of Herve Renard and Pitso Mosimane were linked with the role, but the job has gone to Egypt's all-time leading scorer.

"Hossam Hassan as technical director... and Ibrahim Hassan as director of the first team," the team announced on X.
"The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association decided, in its meeting held today, Tuesday, to appoint Hossam Hassan as technical director of the first Egyptian national team, succeeding Portuguese technical director Rui Vitoria.The council also decided to appoint Ibrahim Hassan as manager of the national team."
