Congo DR star sends stern message to teammates ahead of Bafana clash

Democratic Republic of Congo defender Dylan Batubinsika has sent a stern message to his teammates ahead of their clash against Bafana Bafana on Saturday evening.

Congo missed out on a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations final after losing 1-0 to hosts Cote d'Ivoire in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.

The Leopards now have a chance to claim the bronze medal when they take on 1996 winners South Africa.

"We'll be disappointed for a while because we had the potential to go all the way," the defender said at the press conference

"But we have to put that aside and focus on getting this medal. We need to stay united and motivated to finish third."

The Saint-Etienne defender also had a message for his teammates ahead of Saturday's encounter.

"I think we have a mixture of feelings with the elimination, but our ambition is to go and get this medal. We have to stay mobilised to at least finish in third place," the player said.

"We have to be proud of what we've done so far, we've had a great run, we would have liked to go all the way but that wasn't the case."
